Long Break

It’s now been 3 days since the implant prep and bone grafting on my bottom jaw. Eating is still difficult, the stitches are irritating my lower inside lip and my jaw stills feels a bit stiff and sore although not as bad as yesterday. Things take time to heal and the mouth seems to be the worst to wait for because we have to eat and talk which seems to feel like it delays the healing process.

I can’t brush and I’m bummed! I’m gonna try tonight tho, even if it’s one tooth at a time. I stopped by my dentist today to find out how long the stitches will take to dissolve and to find out what’s gonna happen next. I was given Orthodontic wax to try and cover the stitches but it doesn’t stay. So I’ll just deal with the sores on my lip for now. As for my next appointment, it won’t be until … wait for it…. APRIL! OMG! And about a week or so before that appointment is when I get the X-rays done. So I have to deal with plastic in my mouth for that long. It so sucks but I have to heal from the grafts and probably because he wants to see if the implant takes.

So unless something happens between now and April with my teeth issues, I won’t really be posting anymore but I’ll still hover around the dental forum from time to time to help out anyone else.
